This is simply amazing.
Ubiquity is still in Alpha 0.1 release so it has a loooong way to go, but the concept and the basic actions are jaw dropping. I heard about it about two weeks ago, then decided to load Ubiquity in to Firefox on Monday. Have it on Windows right now and I will get it working on Ubuntu next. My hope is that once this gets off the ground, someone will start bundling command packages together so users won’t have to go out and find all of the ones they want. I could imagine being able to send audio and video to someone with just a few keystrokes, or even adding content to the blog with just a short string of normal language! I am very big on user interface, and this is huge.
Next: Remember the Milk
I am trying this out for task management. Staying organized has become increasingly difficult with all of the things going on in life. What I really like about it is the ability to use it on my Windows Mobile phone- that I will begin using on 10/8- the ability to work offline then reconnect and update your tasks, the flexibility by using either tags and lists, and the keyboard command support so you can work without a mouse. Very cool. They also have Google Maps integration and notification through phone, email, etc. that I haven’t even used yet. It’s all free. I am still getting used to it, but I think it will work very well for what I need at this point.
Try these services out and support some awesome companies while you’re at it.
