Part of what I love about life is looking back on how things happened and what led to inspiration of a creative project. In the interest of saving money, I decided to make Beth (my wife) a bouquet of origami flowers. It was a great project because my two small daughters could help and she was blown away because she had no idea it was coming! I had so much fun doing it, and was able to push through some initial struggles that I thought I would try some other origami – panda, dolls, frogs, cranes, etc. I found this small creative break from my day to be very therapeutic.

Being one to admire and appreciate traditions, I decided to make 1,000 paper cranes. The Japanese legend says that anyone who presents homage to this Holy beast will be granted a wish, such as long life or recover from an illness.
